Dr. Jenny O. Smith

Dr. Jenny O. Smith is a board-certified gastroenterologist. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mississippi State University (Go Bulldogs!) and earned her M.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.
 
Dr. Smith completed both her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowships at Virginia Commonwealth
University -- Medical College of Virginia.

 

Prior to joining Blount Gastroenterology Associates in 2014, Dr. Smith was in private practice for four years in Charlottesville, VA. When asked what brought her to Blount Gastroenterology, Dr Smith replied, "Originally from Mississippi, my husband and I decided that we wanted to move back to the South to be closer to family and return to our roots. Maryville is a small, tightly-knit community that felt like where we were raised and we wanted to raise our family in that environment."
 
Dr. Smith is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and the Bockus International Society for Gastroenterology.
 
Dr. Smith is a Board Member of New Hope, the Blount County Children's Advocacy Center.
 
Dr. Smith is a native Mississippian who grew up in McHenry , MS. She and her husband, Scot, now live in Maryville, TN with their young daughter, who attends Maryville City Schools. They enjoy watching their daughter plays 323 Girl's Softball.
 
In her leisure time, Dr. Smith enjoys reading, college sports. helping coach softball and riding roller coasters.
